2007 Race Series Recap
Vultaggio with Threepeat!
In what was the most heavily contested season in its history, the 2007 Roos F-2000 Race Series was once again won by Mark Vultaggio, of Swiftwater, PA. It marked his third straight championship, making him only the second driver in the series history to record a 3-peat.
Vultaggio totalled 4 main event wins, including victories at Moroso, Pocono (Race 2), and BeaveRun. His strong series start, helped him hold off late season charges by Tim Nichols, of Dallas, TX (Second overall, with three wins), Glenn Brooks of Lakewood, NJ (Third overall, with two wins) and 15 year old Jonathan Scarallo of Hauppauge, NY (Fourth overal, with two wins). Frank Vultaggio of Apalachin, NY, rounded out the top five. Other race winners included Nick Igdalsky (2), John Adamo, John Mitarotondo and Eddie Gramisci.
Scarallo, the younger brother of Trans Am standout Joe Scarallo, captured Rookie of the Year honors, edging out Nick Igdalsky and Eddie Gramisci. Frank Vultaggio won the Hard Charger Award.
The Roos F-2000 series is an arrive and drive championship using winged F-2000 racecars, and is contested at a variety of tracks. For 2008 the series will be making stops at Moroso Motorsports Park (West Palm Beach, FL), VIR (Danville, VA), NJ Motorsports Park (Millville, NJ) and Pocono Int'l Raceway (Long Pond, PA).
